Maybe before then when I tore apart my families HP computer to add more memory…maybe.
Or maybe it was the time I realized I knew more about design than my high school computer teacher. She was reading the same book we were learning out of, just trying to stay a couple chapters ahead in case we had questions.
It was likely somewhere in there but I think more than anything it had to do with my pacemaker.
No, I’m not 80. I’m 27.
I was 12 when I got my pacemaker though and all the brochures I could find on it showed happy old couples that I “clearly” could relate to.
It totally crushed my dream of playing in the NBA so I had to channel that energy somewhere. (Yeah, that’s why I wouldnt’ get in…)
This was when I got into computers for the first time.
It’s also about the time you entered my life as we know it today. I had no idea I’d be a writer and speaker (or did I?)
Of course, I had no idea who you were and we barely know each other now, but I’m positive God’s plan is what has brought us together on this particlar day.
My story is really not that compelling though. I didn’t have cancer or end up with something that caused me to lose limbs. People that go through things like that inspire me and cause me to realize how blessed each person is in their own way.
My story is one of a change of path. I didn’t choose it though.
No, God chose this path for me and he made it pretty clear what I was to do with my life.
I was to live it for Him.
That still didn’t tell me what I was actually to do in life though. That, honestly, still isn’t 100% clear to me. I come close, but then I make another decision. Which is okay, as long as it’s for Him.
So what the heck am I doing here? More importantly, why do you care?
You care because my story impacts your life. Your story impacts mine.
It’s a win-win for us really. In fact, all of our stories impact all of our lives. We can’t go through life without affecting people to some degree, every day.
This is what I’m here for. I’m here to share how our passions cause us to move through life to follow a dream. Along the way, we touch people’s lives, some for a brief season, but all for a reason.
This post is a bit different in the fact that it really shares my heart.
I feel called to connect with you on a level that we never have before. Why? I don’t really know.
Maybe you’re struggling and this is exactly what you need. Maybe it’s me venting some feelings. Maybe it’s random and no one will care.
But I would venture to say that it’s this:
It’s intentionally touching your life in a way. What that way is, I have no idea. What it really means for you, I have no clue.
I have learned that God impresses things on our hearts for a reason and we are called to share them.
As I’ve said before, if you’re not sharing your dream, the world is missing out.
Question: Did this connect with you at all? Was it something you needed to hear? Share any insight you may have to this subject in the comments below.
